“I was scared for my life.” Most assassins, robbers, burglars, thieves, and assailants are scared for their lives when their use or imminent use of unlawful force and violence is resisted by the victim with equal or greater lawful force and violence. The law has no sympathy for you. Our society and the common law of England that we have adopted with our reception statutes has a tender regard for the lives of law abiding citizens, but good never flees from the face of evil, thus our society has no sympathy for the violent criminals amongst us who become victims of their own circumstance.
