Attorney Andrew Branca here, to introduce you to Attorney Steve Gosney, the newest member of our faculty at American Law Courses! Steve will be the lead instructor on our Criminal Law course, for which you’ve registered, and which begins on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. When Steve offered to bring his amazing qualifications to this CrimLaw course, there was simply no way I could not take him up on that opportunity!

Steve has for many years been an appellate lawyer in the public defender's office in Florida. Before that he was in the public defender's trial division, and he is still actively involved in the training of that trial division to this day.

But Steve’s expertise is not merely on the criminal defense side of the court room. Prior to joining the public defender's office, Steve spent six years as a prosecutor in Florida.

Steve is also a remarkably capable legal intellectual, writing many well-received law review and legal academic papers on some of the more complex and subtle areas of criminal law. Indeed, Steve’s academic works rank among the top 10% most cited legal papers, beating out many, many thousands of papers written by full-time law professors!

I should mention that I will continue to participate in the Criminal Law classes that touch most directly on use-of-force law — so you’ll still see me participating in your CrimLaw classes where I am most valuable!

You can be certain that Steve will deliver a world-class Criminal Law course experience, and I’m grateful that we managed to talk him into joining our American Law Courses faculty for exactly that purpose.

So, thanks again Steve, and we’ll see all of you in our first Criminal Law class the evening of Wednesday, September 7!
